The Joys of being pages 158-163!

Ecstatic doesn’t begin to describe the feeling of actually being a page number in a book!  Cleopatra Scarf is pages 158-163 in Storey Publishing’s “Lace One-Skein Wonders: 101 Projects Celebrating the Possibilities of Lace”!

When the pattern was selected over a year ago, I wondered if this day would come.  I watched the thread on Ravelry for announcements.  Reviewed, re-reviewed, asked my tech editor to review, and reviewed one more time, my submission.  And then waited…

The first signs of life for the publication were the gallies.

Next came a check…  My very first check from my very first published design!
Then murmurings on the thread of pre-sales on Amazon.
Then the release day arrived, September 10, 2013.
A few days later my copy arrived in the mail!

Judith Durant, the editor, selected Cleopatra Scarf to be an education in charts, so the written pattern was converted to 3 pages of charts accompanied by a few written instructions for the cast on, bind off, and tassels.

Lace One-Skein Wonders is available in stores near you, including Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, Powell’s, and IndieBound, as well as Ravelry.

The original pattern, tech edited, of course, is still available (at Eco Chic Knits, Ravelry, Craftsy, and Patternfish) independently of the book and contains both written and charted directions.

  1. You go girl! All that and a cheque too! Definitely something to be proud of, and to show off in your portfolio.
